Ramy Bensebaini tried to get Zaha sent off with a ridiculous move as Algeria won on penalties.
Algeria beat Ivory Coast on penalties to progress to the semi-final of AFCON.
It was a deserved win for Algeria, but Ivory Coast showed impressive resilience.
Algeria thought that they won the match when they got a penalty in the second half. That goal would have made it 0-2 and Ivory Coast would surely be lost.
Algeria missed that penalty, Ivory Coast made a comeback and penalties were on. Two poor penalty kicks and Algeria was through to the semi-final.
An entertaining match had one ridiculous situation that involved Zaha and Algeria’s defender, Ramy Bensebaini.

Zaha was ahead of Bensebaini and trying to receive the ball. Bensebaini decided to hold Zaha’s hand and hit himself with it in the face.
Bensebaini than immediately went to the ground, but luckily the referee didn’t bought it.
It was a ridiculous move from Bensebaini that clearly wanted to get Zaha sent off with an unprofessional move.
This result means that Nigeria will face Algeria in the semi-final while Senegal will face Tunisia.
