Thomas Partey reveals which ex-Chelsea player is his role model!

Arsenal's Thomas Partey surprisingly reveals which ex-Chelsea player is his role model on the pitch.

Thomas Partey wants to emulate a Chelsea's player.

Partey has had a solid start to his Arsenal career. After arriving on deadline day from Atletico Madrid, Partey has had big expectations. His best performance, so far, has been against Man United while Arsenal fell apart when he got injured against Villa.

Talking for Arsenal's official website, Party had this to say about who he wants to emulate in England.

"[Essien] is a fantastic midfielder. He fights for every ball, he's a great legend. For me, he's one of the best midfielders that we've ever had in Africa.

"I think we've all seen what he has done at Chelsea, what he has done for the Black Stars and for me, he's my idol.

"I grew up watching Michael Essien, [Sulley] Muntari, the Ayew brothers - they are the people I look up to and they made a lot of impact on Ghanaians. I think this is my moment and I have to make sure I take it."

No wonder that Partey wants to emulate Essien given his position and the national team he represents.

Although it seems a bit odd given that Essien played for Arsenal's rivals, he was still a fantastic player that Arsenal nearly signed at one point.

If Partey does emulate Essien, then Arsenal has a lot to look forward to. Still, it does seem that Arsenal are lacking a playmaker that would make their midfield a bit more flowing and dangerous in attack.

Nevertheless, they made a very good move by bringing in Partey, who has helped make Arsenal's defense a bit stronger.
