Hector Herrera is apparently close to joining Real Madrid, after their manager Lopetegui meet the player in hotel during the international break.
Hector Herrera looks to become the next Galactico!
If you don’t know, there was an international break for the past two weeks. This “break” will finish with tomorrow matches in domestic leagues.
There were some important (debut) matches in Nations League, while South American teams were playing friendly matches.
Mexico played two matches and they lost them both. The first one they lost against Uruguay with a humiliating home defeat of 1-4. The second defeat was probably even more humiliating, given that they lost against the USA.
Mexico was missing their star player, Hector Herrera, who stayed at “home” (Porto) during the international break.
Herrera’s contract will expire at the end of the season and the player doesn’t want to extend the contract with Porto.
This means that he will be able to sign for any club in January, with Real Madrid showing the most interest in the player.

AS is reporting that Real’s new manager Lopetegui meet with the player in some hotel to convince him to join Real Madrid.
There are other clubs interested in the player, but Real obviously has an advantage over the rest, due to their “reputation”.
Obviously, it’s still a long way until January, but Herrera will likely end up at Real, where he will form a very strong midfield.
