Lopetegui wants replacement for Kovacic!

Julen Lopetegui wants replacement for Mateo Kovacic, as he leaves Real Madrid for Chelsea!

Lopetegui wants to add another midfielder.

Real Madrid have lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane during the end of last season. Now, they’ve also lost Kovacic.

Obviously, Kovacic isn’t that important to Real, but this still looks bad for Real.

Croatian player has decided that he doesn’t want to be a squad player anymore and demanded a move to another club.

Similar situation is with Courtois, so Real and Chelsea decided to make a swap deal involving Kovacic and Courtois.

The deal has become offical, as Real will try to get another player to replace Kovacic.

As reported in Marca, Lopetegui confirmed that in an interview.

“It’s true that Kovacic has expressed his desire to leave. I wanted him to stay as he is important for us but it is true that nothing is 100 percent yet.

“There is no deal done for him yet (at the time of interview). If he leaves we will have to find another player of his level and we will look for solutions.”

Kovacic is a Chelsea’s player, as Real will sign someone to replace him at the club.

“If he leaves, we will have to find another player of his level!”

It’s hard to say who will Real buy, but they do have plenty of options on the market. Pjanic is certainly one, but he has signaled his intention to stay at Juve.

This “swap” between Chelsea and Real might trigger a transfer frenzy, as Real will certainly buy some “first rate” midfielder, that will have to be replaced by someone else.

In either case, England transfer window is closing in matter of days, and Kovacic will be one of the last players to make a transfer to the Premier League this summer.
