Unai Emery explains why Jack Wilshere left Arsenal!

Unai Emery

Unai Emery has finally explained in full, on why Jack Wilshere left Arsenal and has now signed for West Ham!

Unai Emery brought the end to Wilshere’s career at Arsenal.

As you probably know, Jack Wilshere is a favorite of Arsenal’s fans.

He has been at the club from the whole of his professional career (and before). Wilshere decided this summer not to renew Arsenal’s contract and he left the club.

The reasons he left Arsenal had all to do with new Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

Now that Wilshere has officially signed for West Ham, Unai Emery spoke out about the reasons why Wilshere left Arsenal.

As reported in Sky Sports, Emery had this to say about Wilshere’s exit.

“It was a tactical, technical decision. The conversation with Wilshere was a very good conversation. I explained to him my opinion and how I will want to create the team and not sure (I could) say to him he’s going to play in the first eleven.

“Also he explained to me the decision is not easy for him but he wanted to choose the best option for him. Every time it was with respect.

“I know this player is very important for the supporters, he grew up here with Arsenal. But I don’t give for him one post in the starting eleven. It’s for that he chose to leave here and I respect this.”

This means that Arsenal will play a lot differently than they did under Wenger.

“It was a tactical, technical decision.”

There, Wilshere seemed one of the more important players, while Emery just doesn’t see him that important for his style of play.

It has to be said that Wilshere had a very average season behind him, where he concentrated more on not getting injured than anything else.

He wasn’t called up to England squad, and transfer away from Arsenal always seemed as the best choice.

West Ham does seem like a good choice for Wilshere, but the future career of former Arsenal’s number 10 will always depend on injuries, or lack of them.
