Jack Wilshere has made his mind and it isn’t something Arsenal fans would want. Jack will be leaving Arsenal in the summer!
Jack Wilshere has finally made up his mind.
He had decided that he won’t sign an extension and will leave Arsenal in the end of June. In other words, Wilshere is going to be an Arsenal player for about two weeks and than he will leave.
It’s a shame that it ended that way, but things have changed a lot with Emery.
Wilshere was destined to become Arsenal’s legend. Still, injuries had other ideas.
Despite being at Arsenal since he was 10 years old, Wilshere managed just 125 appearances for Arsenal in injury-ridden career. He also had two mixed loans during the time at Arsenal.
According to Wilshere, the reason he didn’t sign a new contract is…
“Following a number of extensive conversations with those at the club, and in particular a recent meeting with the new manager, Unai Emery, I felt that I was ultimately left with little choice but to make the decision that I have due to purely footballing reasons.
“Following my meeting with the new manager I was made aware that although the reduced contract offer remained, it was made clear to me that my playing time would be significantly reduced should I decide to stay.
“Given this, I feel I have no option but to pursue other opportunities in order to progress my career on the pitch.”
To make this a bit shorter, Emery told Jack that he won’t be the first choice in his plans.
“Wilshere would be backup under Emery.”
Lucas Torreira is very close to completing the deal, while Ever Banega might come next.
It would be really difficult for Wilshere to get into the team, as Emery clearly doesn’t rate him.
No one knows where Wilshere will continue his career, but it is believed that he will stay in England.
Clubs like Bournemouth, Everton, and Southampton are just some of the clubs interested in the player.
