Cristiano Ronaldo has finally come forward and explained his “famous” celebration, when scoring against Spain!
Cristiano Ronaldo has finally explained his famous celebration against Spain.
Portugal got 4 points in two matches in this World Cup. Not bad, but they would probably have 0 points, if it weren’t for Ronaldo.
He scored all 4 goals for Portugal, and he is the main reason why Portugal is close to the next round of the competition.
This World Cup is also going to be special for Ronaldo, because he managed to break Puskas record of being the top European international goal-scorer.
Anyway, when Spain scored their first goal, Ronaldo made a weird “goatee” celebration. Everyone was asking themselves what was it about.

Some said that it was directed at Florentino Perez (Real’s chairman), but no one was certain.
Ronaldo has finally come forward and explained this celebration in a post-match interview against Marocco.
“This goatee? It’s a joke I had with Quaresma.
“We were in the sauna and I started to shave and I left the goatee. I said if I score tomorrow [vs Spain] I would leave it for the rest of the tournament. And it gave me luck, I scored that game, I scored this one, so it stays.”
It had nothing to do with Florentino Perez, as the whole thing was just a joke between him and Quaresma.
Given that Ronaldo is going to keep his goatee, he may end up having a new iconic look at the end of this World Cup.
Ronaldo has been great, but Portugal hasn’t. They’ve been outplayed by Spain and Marocco, but lucky for them, they have Ronaldo.
Still, they might found themselves getting knock out sooner than later, as football is a team sport!
